Preparation Time: 5 minutes
Cook Time: 20 minutes
Serving: 3 people
Step by Step Procedure :
1. Heat
1/3 cup or katori ghee in a kadai or a thick bottomed pan. Keep the flame to a
low or medium-low.
2. Add
1 cup or katori Suji (Rava or Semolina). Use the fine variety of Suji for
making halwa as it gives a smooth tasting halwa.
3. Roast
Suji till you can see the color of Suji or Rava should become brown. There will
also be a fragrance or aroma of Suji and Ghee in your kitchen. This step is
very important because if Suji is roasted well, then you will get perfect
texture in the halwa.
4.
Add 3/4 cup or katori Sugar on the roasted Suji or Rava.
5.
Add 3 cups of hot water and stir well. Also add a pinch of Salt (it is optional).
6. Now
add Cardamom Powder, Chironji/Charoli, Almonds, Cashews & Raisins.
7. Keep the flame to medium and stirring constantly until all the water is absorbed. Cover Kadai or Pan and Cook on a low flame for 1-2 minutes.
8.
Garnish
with more cashews, raisins and serve Suji Halwa warm!
